This is a Russian-style spindle and if you order you will receive the one in these photos.
The spindle shaft is made from Tasmanian Oak for strength, stability and long service life. This design is quite fast and with an excellent spin and thin flicking tip. The whorl of Western Myall from outback South Australia is a tough and very hard wood which grows in arid to semi arid areas of around 20cms. (8ins.) of rain per year.
Your spindle is sanded to a very smooth surface then buffed to a high gloss finish and then a final gloss of carnauba wax for a long lasting shine and protection.
The support tip has a fine smooth point for long spins and the flicking tip is slender and allows good speeds to be attained with ease. This spindle has a medium to high speed spin and excellent balance
